How The Local Intro began.
The Local Intro began with a simple realization: so many people are searching for the same thing...genuine connection.
Two women but one of us grew up in the Fresno area and the other moved here without knowing many people. Although our stories were different, we found ourselves having the same conversations about how challenging it can be as adults to meet new people, build meaningful connections, and truly feel connected to the community around us.
The more we talked with others, the more we realized we weren’t alone. People wanted to get out, explore new places, and meet new people. They just needed the right opportunity.
At the same time, we were discovering incredible local businesses, hidden gems, and experiences throughout Fresno that deserved to be shared.
So we brought the two together.
The Local Intro creates thoughtfully curated experiences that connect people through local discovery, meaningful conversations, and shared experiences. It’s a chance to step outside your routine, try something new, and meet people you may have never crossed paths with otherwise.
We know showing up somewhere new can feel intimidating. Most people walking through the door are simply taking a chance and hoping for a great conversation, a new friendship, or a reason to reconnect with their city.
With backgrounds in psychology and counseling, we understand the value of human connection. But more than anything, we’re two people who believe Fresno has more to offer. More places to discover, more experiences to enjoy, and more good people worth meeting.
